Ice Buckets in Ethiopia
Most elephants died after reaching their final feeding season. Some were slaughtered to satisfy their hunger, but others were left to starve with no food. Some had developed disease because of the lack of any adequate food, and others were simply dumped to the ground to starve, as were more than 5,000 elephant skulls that had been collected, or simply buried near the park. Others had been poisoned as they were being driven into a wildland for slaughter. Many died within a day, and were either killed in the course of the next year or when they fell into the wild to die.
